ArchiCAD automatically adjusts between Polar (Distance / Angle) and Cartesian (X / Y) Coordinate input method depending the geometry method being used.
Typically linear elements will use the Polar method and rectangular elements will use the Cartesian but sometimes you may want to override this and choose what is most appropriate.
