We can exchange 3D models between our collaborative team using the power of the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) file format. ArchiCAD has been involved with the IAI (International Alliance for Interoperability, BuildingSMART) organisation since 1996, and have certified IFC import and export functions.
Importing an IFC model into ArchiCAD is as simple as using the File > File Special > Merge option, or you can just ‘Open’ an IFC file in a new ArchiCAD project by going to File > Open.
